The buck has to stop somewhere, and in this case, it stops with Superintendent Ritz and the Indiana Department of Education. They entered into a contract with the testing vendor, and it's their job to take care of vendor/contract management and oversight. Just like we hold the governor and the commissioner of INDOT responsible when a road contractor uses poor asphalt or a bridge has to be closed, we need to hold Superintendent Ritz and the IDOE accountable for contract management as well. There is probably not a contract as large or as important as this one, and it is disappointing that there wasn't more oversight, care and involvement by Glenda Ritz and the IDOE," Sweitzer said.
