Truth Summary

The Indiana Department of Education is, in fact, required to audit Indiana’s voucher program, contrary to claims made by their spokesperson Daniel Altman. Indiana Code 20-51-4-3 states: (d) The department shall make random visits to at least five percent (5%) of eligible schools and charter schools to verify that the eligible school or charter school complies with the provisions of this chapter and the Constitutions of the state of Indiana and the United States. Kudos to these schools for discovering the miscalculations through their own audit and taking the steps necessary to rectify the error.
