child through a school voucher than it would to educate the same child in a
traditional public school (average public school funding = $6,321 per student,
average voucher amount = $3,977 per student).
Voucher recipients must meet strict income requirements to qualify for the program. Meaning, these families likely wouldn't be able to afford private school otherwise. Therefore, those students would instead attend a public school, costing the state even more.
